Policy on working if family member tests positive for corona (self.starbucksbaristas)

I know this must have been asked on this subreddit, but I have no been able to find info. I feel fine but a family member has a fever. We are going to get them tested first thing in the morning, but I know those results may take a few days. I'm going to let my manager what is going on, but what is the policy on working while a family member is exhibiting symptoms of corona? Self-quarantining for 14 days? Asking my manager in the morning either way. Just want to know what to expect.

we had a similar situation. a partner’s family member had a symptom of COVID and they were tested. the partner had to self quarantine for 14 days, even though the family’s test result came back negative. i don’t know if it’s the same situation everywhere, but that’s what went down at my store.

Thanks, that was my guess too. It would suck because it feels so much better mentally to be back at work, but obviously it's about so much more than that. Ugh so nervous and so angry if it is corona. We have done everything possible to stay healthy in my house and at my store.

Update: yes, that's how it is at my store and probably company-wide. Luckily, the test came back negative, but I still have to self-isolate and cannot work for a couple of weeks. Bummed but I get it. 😔

As far as I am aware, if you or someone you have close contact with is showing symptoms and tests positive, you have to quarantine for 14 days regardless. I may be wrong, but that is my understanding of it.
