Pods But Not a Really (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by charliechapline
We started morning and night pods at our store which I understand. That way if a person in one pod gets sick that whole pod has to stay away from the bux for 2 weeks, and the other pod is still available to work. What i don’t understand is that our pods overlap by 15 minutes and also my manger schedules herself during both pods, doesn’t this defeat the whole purpose?

yes. we even have people who switch pods. literally defeats the whole purpose.

oh, it’s honestly a free for all. My SM asked me to cover for one person in another pod today because that partner didn’t want to come in. And as hard as it is, SMs do whatever the heck they want. Our rules don’t apply to them.

my store isn’t even doing pods, I didn’t know any were. it was briefly mentioned that we would start a few weeks ago and then never happened. I am now in a two week quarantine because a partner went home sick on my day off and then another one came in the next day sick so everyone that worked with that partner had to quarantine. our store continued to operate for an hour and a half after finding out and notifying our sm that there was a sick partner, and he basically said we would just have to find someone to cover his shifts
