Not sure what option to choose (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by vicsnapshot1
After coming back from cat pay i was not receiving enough hours to pay bills. Now they are saying that hours will be getting cut again. the only benefits i take advantage of at SB is spotify and food mark-outs bc HAHA cant exactly afford food rn.
I am unsure about which option to choose.

Option 1 doesn’t sound great since i already don’t make enough, and i dont think the stores in my area are getting enough business either.

Options 2 sounds good but there is the possibility that A) i will have to wait a really long time for unemployment checks to come in, B) i could be recalled which i assume will affect unemployment, C) they could straight up deny my request for LOA if too many people take 2&3

Option 3 sounds good temporarily but if unemployment checks take too long to come in im not gonna have any money for bills for a while

I may be wrong with some of this information so pls correct me, but i am just so anxious about every one of these options and dont know what to do

& even though they say they’ll report 2/3 as INVOLUNTARY LOSS of hours due to bux conditions- as it’s not labeled as a furlough or lay-off I’m not truly confident we’d qualify for u/e compensation— with partial loss of hours if you stay working we def. do if your gross falls below your states weekly Amt for u/e, plus the extra 600 thru end of July.

Choice 2 could leave us stuck if we don’t qualify for u/e and there’s no real way to know since decision is due June 7 & loa starts 15th- you can’t apply for unemployment until the week actual loss occurs

Actually, it depends on your state. Stop spreading false information to others.

I would familiarize yourself with your states unemployment benefits and call your local office and get the questions answered personally so you know what you’re up against.
