If I chose to take a leave would it start immediately or would I still work the rest of my scheduled shifts? If I qualify for unemployment, how soon can I file? Do you guys think it’s a good choice??? I’m super spooked out!! I think this would be a good option for me if I could make more on unemployment and have more time to focus on myself, but I don’t want my SM to be upset with me. I really like everyone I work with; I just don’t know if I want to pass up this opportunity. /:

Transferring isn't something anyone on reddit can meaningfully answer. You need to talk to your DM and possibly the DM of the district you're trying to transfer to.
Preferences don't go into affect until after June 12

ALSO. I have to transfer in September. Does anyone know if and how this would be affected???

Also file for unemployement immediately. I didn’t even tell them what option I chose. Just do it because the process takes awhile. You will get reimbursed for the days unaccounted for during the processing time for the application. So file ASAP Rocky

It let you file already? I'm choosing option 2 and I registered but I haven't made a claim. Should I?

& seriously the guy I talked to from the department was one of the sweetest people I’ve encountered over the phone. Explain to them the situation and they might already be familiar with the context because so many others might be calling about the same situation

From what department? Unemployment or pcc?

I believe you I initiate the claim the week of the hours lost then call 800# either Sunday at end of said week or by the following mon/tues to file for that week. Then same every week after- call 800# to file for the week past.

File it the day you stop working. I am lucky to have been in a gap where I haven’t been on a schedule.

So I would definitely take advantage of option two with what you stated. I am going through issues with the transferring process right now but someone will always be there to help you. I also wouldn’t worry about what your SM will think about you choosing option two. If they have a problem then that’s their problem. You are doing what’s best for you. & from everything I’ve experienced with transferring, yes it’s making things more complicated but it will work. In regards to your September transfer they will most likely postpone it and you will be on active status at the store you’re currently at. Now if you’re in a similar boat like me and I moved from one city to another then my manager at the store I’m active at has to talk w the SM to figure out what they have to do. But again, it’s their job to do it and not for you to worry. You have to do what’s right for you. Starbucks is one of the most understanding companies to work for at corporate level
