For the amount that Starbucks works it’s partners and underpays them, it’s amazing how many people stay for so long. The thing that made it worth it to me was the health insurance and free college, but otherwise man the job is harder than it seems and pays so little. Do what’s best for you, the company won’t care.

I know and sadly even tho I have so many shifts who will miss me because I tend to help them out any chance I get and I work so hard, I know SM probably wont even bat an eye :(

If you already have another job lined up that pays you more, just take option 3.

Which was option 3? My manager went over them so fast I wasnt able to tell which options were which

Leaving and getting severance package (pay out which is your current scheduled hours + 60 hours of normal hourly pay (for baristas) + vacation hours + cobra if you have benefits thru Starbucks).

The confusion with that is my manager isnt even sure if our store is included because we dont have bad hours right now like the stores in cities or closed stores etc. She told us about them but kept saying how unsure she was if our store is included or not. If I do that though when do I leave? Like do you know if I have to put in a 2 weeks or just take it immediately?

Your store is included. The entire US market is included. You just have to let your manager know by Sunday (or whatever date your SM is set for deadline). Official date is Sunday though (according to the PDF).

If you choose option 3, your last day would be the 14th I believe.

I agree with the other commenters. Do what is right for you. You're the one who will be most affected by it. And your store will manage. Most Starbucks I've heard of get lots of applications, so if it's staffing you're worried about, let them take care of it. If you have a job lined up that will put you in a better place financially, and it's what you want to do, take the severance. I'm staying with my store because I have a year of college left, and I need the work while I'm here. Otherwise, the severance seems like a good deal.

Also, my store is also not very affected hours-wise, but we definitely still have the choice. Other people from your district will probably get those hours as they shuffle people around. At least, that's what I understand from it all.

Best of luck to you!

I will message my SM tomorrow then. Like I said she was just very brief with how she described everything so I appreciate everyone informing me more on the situation. I know she brought each of the preferences up but had it followed up with "I'm not sure if our store is qualified' because she has been trying to give us the hour we once got, but thats only because we have 25 partners+.

You’ve got a job lined up you’re looking forward to, Starbucks needs to cut labor (across the country, not just single stores) and they’re offering severance. This never happens - seems like a great choice for you since you have bigger and better plans! Best of luck.
