I'm pretty sure I screwed up here. Am I getting fired? (self.starbucksbaristas)

With the media going crazy these days about the events in Minneapolis, there's been some really bad with some good come of it. Not going to argue sides, not the point here.
I saw someone on social media with a post along the lines of "Well, I bet stuff in Minneapolis is gonna be seriously cheap after this, amiright?"
Made me a touch mad to see people taking advantage. Personally, if one of my employees or co workers had posted something like that, I would report it because... Must I explain? I informed them (in a snarky way I might add, which will probably be my downfall), that I would try and find their employer because of I worked with someone like that, I would want to know. So obviously, screenshots were taken from the message from a third party and send then to what I assume is Sbux HQ, letting them know that I'm racists I guess for trying to inform his employer?
There's no way I'm apologizing, pretty sure the company wouldn't let me slide so easily, as I've seen from just viral videos. I understand Sbux takes complaints like that extremely seriously, and in your experience, should I probably start looking for another job? I'm sure I'll have to either way with the way labor is going down and everybody being offered the paid leave, reduced hours, etc, but I haven't been spoken to about any "package deal" yet.

There is literally never a reason to try to doxx someone and make them lose their job for comments they made on the internet (unless its disgusting hate speech). Someone flipped the switch on you and did the same thing you said you were gonna do and got mad about it?

I understand your intolerance towards injustices but it sounded to me like this person just happened to beat you to what you were going to do to them (report to their employer and get them into trouble) Not sure what will happen because I haven’t experienced this or haven’t talked with anyone that experienced this. Depending on your manager, you might get a stern talking to or a writeup. I don’t see how a justification for separation but then again, wilder things have happened.

Honestly, unless you were wearing a Starbucks uniform and holding a Starbucks flag while you said it, I highly doubt anyone will care. The labor laws around what is permissible on social media is EXTREMELY employee friendly.

You weren’t speaking for the company and you didn’t really say anything that bad. It was a dickhead comment but nit racist, threatening or harassing. IF someone at corporate got wind of it they probably wouldn’t even give it a second glance.

Haha no you're fine. I've been quietly shown my own comments on this sub and told to purge my comments, and I was pretty inflammatory. You told someone you don't tolerate racist behavior and neither should their employer.

You are most likely okay. In the future, don't threaten to report someones behavior to their employer, just do it. If threats got people to act appropriately, nobody would be fired or in jail.

How did they know that it was you? Just curious before I vent a bit too hard lol

I was EXTREMELY BAD about anonymizing my old account.

Like really bad. You could tell at a glance that I lived in City A, commuted to City B by an uncommon combination of methods, worked in a specific neighborhood, and gave descriptions about events that were 100% factual as to date/time/gender/participants/location.

So fucking bad. Cherry on top was a post I had made to a makeup subreddit. So if you were potentially unsure of who it was, my face was plastered on the profile too.

You could still probably ID me if you know me fairly well, but it's whatever now. I just purge my comments regularly and don't tell identifying stories about my store.

I tried to ID you just to show you the risk but like... You good. I might be able to maybe guess you are potentially on the west coast USA, but that's a shot in the dark at best. Small town? But that's USELESS for finding you.
