Today when my manager called me to ask which option I was going to take, I told her option 3, even though when we were talking the other day I told her option 3 wasn’t even on my list of options. I’m anxious! I am (was?) a shift and I would be having mental breakdowns on the daily because of the stress of working at Starbucks. I don’t know what the point of my post is, I guess I just needed to tell someone?

Congrats! Do you know if you'll be able to receive unemployment? I'm considering following suit. I'm also a shift, and I've had a really rough time too.

I think so? I remember the paper saying they’ll tell the unemployment people that this was an “involuntary loss of job due to covid19”

Yeah that’s what the paper says. Technically option 3 is quitting but legally/officially it’s being laid off

Congrats!!! I am happy you had the balls to do it. I wish I had and now it's too late. My manager sent a third of the staff away for two weeks starting today because a partner has a sore throat (aka COVID) and I had 4 people my entire shift on a Friday. I almost broke down. This place is toxic and you acknowledging that is admirable. 🙌
