Advice on quitting? Or maybe just a rant.. (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by MissCleoDarling
Simply put, I need to get out.

I used to love my job but its recently become a serious threat to my mental and physical well-being. Im sick of it here.

I need to quit but my area isn't hiring much (just specialty jobs like piping, truck driving etc.) and I've heard through the grapevine that even open positions dont have many hours to go around.

I have no clue what to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

Why don’t you just take Covid LOA that has been offered? Did your SM talk to you about the preferences that were due today? (US markets only)

I don't qualify. There's "too many potential hours" for our store

Can you just work super part time (15 hours or so) and get partial unemployment? That way you still get paid while not being stressed out as much at work?

I understand exactly what you're going through. Try looking for jobs on Craigslist, that's how I found my new job! Especially with the direction the company is going now is a great time to get out.

They might offer you a severance package if they’re doing the options. Where’s your store??

Take option 3, try for unemployment, start looking now, maybe like a couple part time jobs could cover it? Good luck.
