Hows your manager handling the benefits package?(self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Critical50
So a whole lot of partners in my store chose to stay. But they're being cut anyways, and not going to recieve the paid out package.
My manager will probably offer to promote me, but after seeing this shit show Im probably going to turn it down and find a 2nd job to fall back on.
EDIT: I didnt mean to put benefits package. Whatever the different options were called.

My store is pulling in more money than ever, we stayed open during the optional leave and we've been crazy busy ever since. Last night at 7pm, my Manager texted me in a group chat with 9 other partners asking us to confirm our options. I find this crazy. Like, isn't that something maybe you should have texted personally, and not at 7 on a Sunday night? It felt so cold. Most of us are taking option 1.

Is your store not getting much business? My stores so busy since corona started spreading and I’m getting my usual or more hours, so I’m surprised stores are having these issues.

We're hardly getting any business. We're located in a neighborhood, very far away from a lot of traffic. Even before all this happened, most of the customers I saw were regulars. And there were hardly any lol.
We're not near any huge office buildings, interstate exits, nothing. Only reason most people are in this area is because they live here. They also opened up a DT store only a mile away from us, thats closer to interstates. And only a few miles away from that in another direction is also another store.

Is this a US thing? Not heard of anything about severance deals in canada

US markets only

I would have them fall PRC. It doesn’t make sense that they aren’t receiving the severance deal.
The whole point was to take volunteers because the company is over staffed.
If a store doesn’t get volunteers and still needs to cut, they should be getting the sale benefit.

If partners chose option 1, they can’t change it. And if the store doesn’t have enough hour, those partners can potentially be transferred to another store. Or if that’s not an option, those partners who chose #1 would either be schedule no hours (or very little hours) or forced into an LOA. But there will be no severance for those partners because they chose option 1.

If I was aware this was going to happen, I would've left.
It feels like those who chose to be loyal to the company are being fucked over. Thats really not right.

We really are. Starbucks needs to address this and be held accountable.

But how could they have “chose” “option” 1 if they were not “choices” or “options”, but “preferences”?
mykotman121 points3y ago
Ok, sorry for my chose of words. You state your preference and once you announce your preference, you can’t change it. If you want more info on that, you can look at the Partner Care Preferences PDF on the HUB.
