so yesterday was my last day and I tried using all my sick hours this week and my manager called me to let me know its not possible to use them after I put in my 2 weeks? Does anyone know if this is true

I did it when I left last August, but they just can’t put you over 40 hours a week. So even when I left imy last two weeks I worked 30 hours each week so I could only use 10 hours for each week.

Ok yeah I used 5 last week and no one said anything, so I think my manager just doesn’t want to let me use them(?) thanks

It isn't fraud or illegal. They can try to use their sick time but the employer can deny it so they gamble losing money if denied. Most likely Starbucks will not accept any type of PTO during a two week notice.

It says in the partner guide that sick hours can’t be used as vacation hours and that they need to used for approved reasons

Still doesn't make it fraud (Deception for financial gain), legally speaking. Just unlikely to be approved just like I said.

Fine. It’s sick leave abuse then.
Though you do gain financially and are deceptive by receiving sick pay when you aren’t sick or fall under the other approved reasons.
