New schedule is whack (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by amiisay
I really thought I wouldn’t be affected by all this stuff, my SM is the best and shows me a ton of support and was giving me 40 hours, Monday-Friday 430-1 when j got laid off my second job. I’m the main opening SSV.

Then today I check the new schedule and I have 30.5 hours, Monday Weds Thursday Sat Sunday? All 5.75s except one 8. I didn’t think the hour cuts would be so serious. Especially for me who is the main opener... I’m getting scared.

That’s a lot better than most even before Covid.

Yeah honestly 30.5 is still somewhat decent, it brings you closer to getting back your other 10 hours once business really takes off. Some partners are only getting approved for Option 1 even though they chose Option 2 or 3. To me that means Starbucks knows we are starting to slowly see a growth increase and they might actually keep us on board after all. It’s all so confusing really, no one ‘really knows’ anything until the next few months of business.

Right, I got laid off my second job at the beginning of covid and was boosted from 28 to 40. We only have 4 shifts and I am the main opener so the hours I had were needed at the store

Yeah I didn’t think so either; now I’m separating. But yeah you’re getting way more hours than I was during covid.

We were the only store in the district not to close during covid and we were insanely busy so everyone in my store was at a 20 hr minimum
