This article is probably what they’re referring to. Starbucks apparently cut ties with them eight months after the slave labor was discovered/exposed but... yeah it is. not good.

yeah, I did see that in the replies. it’s scary that people are spreading that kind of information though, and then other people are saying “keep this up” as if that should be happening everywhere. I understand being upset with the company but if I were a barista in that cafe I would feel unsafe

I understand feeling unsafe, and I likely wouldn’t either. That being said... I do support the protests, and I don’t think it’s up to me to decide how other people protest. We’ve had riots and destruction of property in our area but our DM closed stores that were close by, and after that well... in my opinion, buildings can be rebuilt. Lives that were lost, lives that are being protested about, cannot be replaced. In situations like that I support closing the store and sending the employees home. Starbucks has insurance, and the store is just a building.
