We didn't think we would get to sit at home and get paid for almost 2 months without consequences. This is all part of reconstruction of the company after the devastating blow to sales and I suppose in some areas, the stores decimated by protests turned violent. In a way, it's nice that some people had their preferences honored instead of massive layoffs. I hope you got your preference. Crazy time for sure.

So people have slightly more choice than corporate just picking people and furloughing them. Most companies just dropped everyone so Starbucks wanted to give a “choice” but who knows if it’s really a choice at all
