Let’s give a meaningful raise to EACH and EVERY partner.

now that’s a cause I can get behind
toastyblunt 11 points 3y ago
they gave us one and then took it away 😚💞
Pedalfasterluculus 60 points 3y ago
Do they have any idea how freaking exhausting that is? Specially for those of us introverts that are already trying hard to make small and meaningless small talk in an endless drive thru line?
It's so hot and we're breathing in hot air because of the mask, we don't have access to water whenever need it (just breaks)... those expectations are insane. I'd love for some empathy to be extended our way.

"you can get water at any time, but it has to be kept in the back"

\*as soon as you leave your position\*

"sTAY PLANTED"

Even when it’s busy and your waiting for drinks to come through for drive through and you get slammed for not telling your fellow baristas to work faster even though they’re already at their limit.
beccaboo2u 2 points 3y ago
I got a doctor's note that I must have water within reach at all times. That solved it.
sinisterbird420 1 points 3y ago
I will do that!! That’s a great idea!
throwaway536xx 1 points 3y ago
looool so damn true though. So annoying.
Domestica 2 points 3y ago
I have to bring a second set of clothes that I change into during my break because of how much I sweat. I’m usually doing the warming

Why does anyone think customers want this? If I could get the same product from a vending machine without interacting with a person, I would.
spongepants19 11 points 3y ago
Times are changing for sure. More people want to just get their stuff and leave. That’s why they have entire restaurants in japan where you talk to no one. America is just so up in your face I swear 😫
dancing_durian 38 points 3y ago
Does the connection between my foot and their ass count?
sabrinamaex3 20 points 3y ago
I can still hear the voice of my SM who would constantly watch me when I first started and would say “don’t forget to make those customer connections!” through the headset. I quit after a month because I got so tired of being forced to carry conversations with customers who clearly didn’t want to talk.
throwaway536xx 2 points 3y ago
Yup that's why I quit too

"How can we improve our company?

Source better coffee?

Increase wages so that we attract more mature people and get better work ethic?

Oh I know. Lets have them socialize more with customers. It cost nothing too!"
throwaway536xx 8 points 3y ago
And then get mad at us when the DT times get higher because of said conversations...
cactasscooler 8 points 3y ago
okay, but when i do try to make meaningful connections, it’s always, “keep them to under a minute!!” :/
SatanicCat666 7 points 3y ago
I got talked to for over connecting. Lol
beccaboo2u 3 points 3y ago
Me too..."you're holding up drive times"
guillotinefag 4 points 3y ago
fr...the amount of times I've been talking to a customer in drivethru that I know personally and been told that I have to get the drinks out and stop holding up the line...
like, i thought y'all wanted me to make connections??
PurpleTIEFighter 3 points 3y ago
THIS. I had family come through and I was told to cut the connection short because of drive times. I legit asked my SSV to tell me whether they wanted me to connect or not, I was so done.
SatanicCat666 2 points 3y ago
Lol I close so its not THAT much of a deal but when I do mids...yeh I gotta shut my trap lol
sholbyy 6 points 3y ago
Make meaningful connections with EVERY customer, OH, but also keep the store immaculately clean and constantly stocked and don't get out of customer support routine, OH and also keep DT times down to 5 seconds!!!1!
FutureKnightMaybe 3 points 3y ago
Me when the licensed store says we should ask for names for drinks, but the customer stands there the whole time watching us so we never have to call anything out 😑
IcePhoenix96 2 points 3y ago
Starbucks sees the real joy and spark that happens when a barista is able to actually connect and effect customer's lives and says **ok now do that with every customer**. It's an impossible task from the start
ladyelenawf -2 points 3y ago
Which left toe? And why that one? Is it blueberry flavored?
