The misfortune of attempting to bag lemon loaf... 3 attempts later I got it in, in 1 piece (i.redd.it)

Dump it out of the clear plastic packaging and flat onto the cutting board(or whatever it’s technically called). Pick it up with the tongs on the sides of the cake with the bottom of the slice going into the bag first. I know it sounds time consuming, but I’ve never had a piece break this way so it causes less waste.

Ahh that sounds a bit better. It happens a lot at our store

It did at our store aswell, it took me a bit to come up with this method bc I got tired of breaking 5 of them before I could get one in the pastry bag

Good idea!

Leave it in the package and put it in the pastry bag lol hand it to them and say "I left it in the bag so you could get all of the icing still on it" most will appreciate it

Apparently I’m some states it’s against regulations to serve a sealed food item that doesn’t have nutritional facts on the bag. Though I’m sure no ones gonna nail us for that.

Yeah we definitely wouldn't do that if our DM was around

Lmaoooo true 🤣🤣

Did none of the partners want it?
spicypotatogurl [OP] 1 points 3y ago
Nope lol

I wish they came in like a non stick bag of some sort lol. It’s even worse in the summer when the icing is all melty.

I hate bagging lemon loaves! I got into a fight with one yesterday. 😂

Anyone old enough to remember when lemon loaf came in a loaf and you had to neatly pry each individual slice from the rest of the loaf??? That was a pain!!

But yeah, lemon loaves seem especially fragile lately. The tong trick works best if you're not dying on warming bcs the girls softball team came at 6a m.!

Afraid I'm not old enough to remember that, sorry haha. Sounds awful though!

At my store I've heard they don't like for us to use the tongs to grab the loaf from inside the plastic because if cross contamination. Which of course is valid, but it sucks to have to waste 3 loaves just to get 1 in the pastry bag if I did it the way I've been told to at my store.

This happened to me the other day with some very warm (and delicious) pumpkin bread.
