So there’s this thing that goes around the stores in my area that pulling odd number shots messes with the calibration of the machines. Is this true? A lot of our partners say we should just always pull two or four and then only catch one if that’s what you need.
If that was true, why would we even have buttons for one or three?

I was told that too back when I first started, I only use the double shot button and catch what I need. It’s such a habit now I don’t even think to use any of the other buttons

We have a tech at our store at least once every other week lmao our machines are always breaking and almost every single barista is in the habit of only pulling two or four shots 😂😂

The tech hated my first store so much. He was regularly there, at least every 2-3 weeks.
We were one of the busiest stores in our district. Located off an interstate + multiple office buildings + restaurants + a ton of neighborhoods.
Homeboy comes on the floor in the middle of one of our busiest times of the day and starts trying to tell me how Im doing things wrong with the hoppers. I literally say to him "Im really busy right now, I dont care." Like when I have a second I'll refill the fucking hopper, but do you not see the 20+ people standing in the lobby? FUCK OFF DUDE.
Then he stomps around the floor bitching about me for half an hour. My SM didnt give a single shit. No one did.
At my new low volume store he seems to be pretty friendly though. He doesnt remember me at all. Hes only here every 1-2 months.

Omg our maintenance guy is the best. My store is similar to that first one you described, super busy all the time.
Anytime the tech walks through the doors, we all put our hands up and yell his name 😂😂 love being on a first name basis with our tech.

Idk why those buttons are there, but before we got the new mastrenas, we had to do the same by pulling only 1 or 4 shots.
