question for SMs re: availablity (self.starbucksbaristas)

i know you folks are probably tired of answering this question, but what exactly is the deal with availability? if a SM approves my availability, are they required to schedule me within those hours, or do you have executive power to schedule me whenever they need me? my situation: i’m available from 8am to 7pm (approve by my SM), and they keep scheduling me 1-9:30 every night. do i just have to take it? we’ve had multiple conversations, and nothing has changed.

No they should not be able to schedule you outside your availability. Contact your DM

The partner handbook explains that you can be scheduled outside of your availability. It's a jerk move for an SM to do, but there's no prohibition against it. I would start by talking to the SM to figure out why they're doing it, and if there's a alternative that works for both of you.
Sometimes SMs are just working with an outdated availability, or they copy forward last weeks schedule without updating it for any changes in availability.
