Also don’t let this distract you from the fact that when service pay started; the whole mask and temperature thing wasn’t even implemented yet.

Meme is on point.

They gotta get their last quarters to be very profitable or the big bad investors will go away. I hate the system we live in. Investment and endless growth are inherently corrupt and bad for the people.

Can't wait to have the cafes open by July and have no protection other than one thin fucking mask. Nobody has been wearing masks when they come to my store and they all just get so bent out of shape about having to wear one. It's not the end of time. Oh, and our connection scores went from 47 to 27 in the two weeks we lost service pay and our manager is pissed because we don't have such great scores anymore but,,, am I going to give 100% when I'm not making ANY money to keep up with bills? I have a family, and there's no other places hiring. They took our service pay after sitting at home and collecting (they being sbux) and now they want more from us? No.

And the thing is, customers probably give bad scores because they have to wear masks when coming in, stand on a circles, have to wait outside because the lobby is maxed capacity...all these safety measures that are out of our control. Not to mention the metric to measure customer connection is arbitrary to begin with. And not to say your SM is right to get pissed but the unfortunate reality is that’s ‘their’ grade and potentially is the factor that determines if they can keep their job. The system is rigged.

There are jobs hiring. Have to put effort into it and look outside the box. I found one during the pandemic. Best job so far and love the work.
bantambagel 1 points 3y ago
Where did you end up finding one?
nerdheartRN 6 points 3y ago
I thought outside the box a bit and stopped trying to find "a job I love", and started looking at "things I love doing". So now I work for marine construction company handling their building permits; part of my job is drafting building plans so I get to draw which is fun for me. I can message you some tips I used to get the job!

I mean, the whole health questionnaire and temp taking is often a part of your state’s guidelines. So the state is saying there’s still a pandemic and Starbucks is complying.

But yes, fuck them. Y’all don’t get paid enough.

Three stores in my district got closed cuz there were partners with confirmed cases. One of them is my store
mykotman12 4 points 3y ago
Service pay was an incentive or a reward for people who stayed at work while others were at home and still got paid. Once everybody got back, of course it would end since everybody is back at work.

a coworker of mine got corona. im on a 2 week leave. but yeah we dont need service pay anymore!

Starbucks is really trying not to get sued...
kaitlyn_vargas 1 points 3y ago
Also the amount of people that come in and order without a mask and still can get service makes me upset.
Marinaseaglass -3 points 3y ago
As a small protest, I know several people who aren't signing the sheet or doing the questionnaire before every shift.

They still take their temperature and have the questionnaire memorized, but aren't giving Starbucks the legal covering for saying they did it when they aren't given hazard pay.

Just putting the idea out there....
askley422 7 points 3y ago
or a great way to get written up?
randomityrevealed 1 points 3y ago
Yeah, that’s not protest or legal trouble for the company, that’s just reason to fire you.
