Reporting management (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by TheWallTheVeil
Has anyone ever reported their manager before? I've been working with her for nearly two years now and she's just gotten progressively worse. I started looking for a new job right before covid hit and we had to shut our non drive thru store down, but I know even if I go, someone else is going to have to take my place and put up with her. She's lazy, finds ways to leave early all the time but plays it off like she worked 50 or 60 hours the week before. We all talk among coworkers and I know when she's left early other days. I could continue to talk about everything she's done wrong, but it would take forever. Basically I manage the store and she gets paid for it. I'm not sure if I should go to my district manager (who we've already sat down with a year ago and had an assimilation meeting with our manager). Or if I should go to PCC? I'd just like to hear that I'm not wasting my time and putting myself at risk.

Report them. If higher management backs up their behavior then it's not the place or time for you to be there, but you can always go over their heads as well, keep going higher. It could take a while though

Speak with you coworkers and determine is this something everyone else sees to the same degree?
If they dont all agree, what things can be agreed on.
Take this agreed list to you DM, and escalate to partner services as needed

Sounds like my store. Guess this is a common situation. I’m sorry. It really sucks and you deserve better.

Damn, it sounds like we’re working together. My SM is exactly the same. I’m so sorry. Right there with you. I’m in talk with my DM about other opportunities with the company.

Sadly, this is so common amongst Starbucks managers. I wish more partners were willing to speak up and do something about it!!

I reported her to my DM today, waiting to hear back!
