new California mask ordinance?? (self.starbucksbaristas)

so I know Starbucks said that we can't refuse service to people not wearing a mask we can only suggest it but ,, the governor of California just required masks in indoor places so idk how that works esp since it is a private establishment yknow? my manager is a very passive person so I have a feeling we won't be backed if we do try to make someone leave so idk what to do or what is our rights/what's illegal? any cali partners here know anything? thanks n have a gr8 day

I can’t speak for how tour SM will respond. I’m an ASM in Atlanta and don’t have that law BUT As much as Starbucks policy is important the law ALWAYS comes before policy. No exceptions, Starbucks can’t fire you for following the law.

Here in va we have that you have to wear a mask going inside anywhere... we were told we can’t refuse service.. at least at my store we were told that.

Lucky you have an ordinance. My states cases are rising again and we have people getting pissed off that they can’t sit inside our cafe
