Petition to End Happy Hour due to COVID-19 (self.starbucksbaristas)

Hey fellow partners, for those that worked happy hour yesterday, we all know how crazy it was. Hundreds of customers without masks, not social distancing, and no chances to sanitize anything or even wash our hands due to short staffing. This petition demands that Starbucks end the Happy Hour promotional events for the remainder of 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Please share with fellow partners and friends! Thank you!

I was just about to make a post under r/starbucks asking if there were any created petitions to sign to end happy hour during the pandemic and then this popped up on my home feed! Thank you for starting this. My store closed yesterday due to a few symptom showing employees but most of us dont even get quarentine pay during it. I cant imagine if we had stayed open, especially being a high volume store on top of a spiked location of covid cases on top of happy hour causing chaos. This is such a poor decision on the companies end and does not show any concern for the employees who are working during this time, especially those of us with pre existing conditions that could result in a fatality over someone getting a second frap for free.
I dont know if this is allowed or if it's been posted to r/starbucks but if it can it might help get the word out even faster! Again, thank you!

We don’t do happy hour in my store over in uk but I’ll happily sign as I’ve been reading a lot of happy hour posts on here. I’m sorry everyone is having to work this unsafe environment.

I didn't even work yesterday, I am on LOA, but I am signing this now.
We shouldn't have to deal with this bullshit on a normal day let alone during a pandemic, with no hazard pay.

Service pay was done for partners who chose to work during the outbreak when the option of taking time off with cat pay was presented. It was a “bonus” for partners who chose to work. They can’t keep paying service pay forever or until the pandemic is over because Covid is not just gonna end on some random day. It’s here to stay (like the flu) and will have “seasons”.
If you don’t want to work HH, just request that day off (when you come back from LOA).

Unfortunately my manager does not grant any of my schedule changes, except for occasional days off. I have been waiting for her to quit or get fired for months now. She has never worked anywhere but SBUX, is inexperienced, was homeschooled; its just a nightmare. They must have been desperate to find someone, which I know is true because my store went through 3 managers in less then a year. This is #3.

Can you change your availability so you have Thursdays off? Just say that you are not able to work Thursdays at all. At least until the pandemic gets better?
