Reasonable accommodations? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by okeekee
Have any of you gotten a written accommodation from Starbucks? What was the process like?

I have some physical issues that prevent me from running solo DT in any sort of effective way and the shift keeps putting me there, berating me and calling me stupid in front of customers, then bringing up my lack of performance to the SM. I don’t mind being on DTR OR DTO, and my store is high enough volume we always have enough people on the floor for DTO/DTR, Bar 1,2, Warming, and CS/R1.

Woah. Hold up. If your shift is literally berating you (in front of customers or not) it should be brought to your SMs attention. Make sure you have others who have witnessed it to back you up. If your SM doesnt do anything, make sure you get your DMs phone number. As a shift myself, that behavior is completely unacceptable, along with the fact that they are ignoring your medical accommodation. I'm sorry to hear you have to deal with that. I hope you can get things resolved.
