I don’t think you are suppose to put those inside the water...?

for context, the thermometer wasn’t reading correctly (it was stuck at the max temperature despite being in a cold fridge all night), so I put it in ice water to calibrate it and this happened

edit: the water isn’t just dripping from the thermometer, it’s coming out of it
