I’m so confused because one manger says I can cover shifts at different locations and my current manger says that partners have to stay at their store only, is that true? Thank you!

Just call the store you’re asked to cover at and see what they say. Tell them what your SM said, they may need to talk to you SM and such. Sounds like your SM is just trying to keep control during covid- doing it well is another story

Yeah she said that due to COVID she can’t have me working with other employees or it could cause our whole store to be quarantined... the other manger said that it should be fine as long as I don’t show symptoms I guess my manger just doesn’t trust that other SM are keeping up on their parts. I won’t even bother, last thing I need is to cause issues I just wanted to see my options. Thank you! I appreciate the help

let your manager know/ask if it’s okay to cover the shift at the other store. it should be fine as long as you aren’t going into Overtime (I know my district manager has to approve OT before we’re allowed to cover shifts that would put us into OT). otherwise, as far as I’m aware you’re 100% allowed to cover shifts at other stores as long as they’re in your district (I was told that covering at a store in another district can cause payroll issues)

Yes your manager would know but it would only be to cover that particular shift. It’s not that you’re transferring to that store- so long as you aren’t going above a certain amount of hours and such it shouldn’t be a problem.
It’s basically the same as covering in your own store. Just make sure everything also aligns with covid rules and hours and you should be good. If you’re genuinely concerned call the Sm at the borrowed store and talk with them
