Furthermore the crime is illogical. Why commit a crime that is so traceable back to you and has extremely clear evidence? How would someone even do this? Unwrap a tampon in front of all their coworkers and costumers? Would they use a used one and pull it out of their ya know in front of everyone? Would they run to the bathroom in the middle of making a drink?

At the very least they would have convince a crew of 5 other people at least to put their jobs and crime record on the line so that one cop gets a nasty prank.

Just thinking about trying to do this is insane. Is the barista going to run to the bathroom to pull out a tampon, and bring it back to put in the frap without any other partners noticing or stopping them? Or do you just pull it out in the middle of the bar and put it in? Or do you have a cup prepped ready for someone? And then there are security camera that would catch it.

There's just no conceivable way for this to actually happen.

update: apparently the starbucks in question is in a target, which means that there is no drive thru, so there’s no conceivable way someone could put a tampon in a drink without being noticed by literally anyone, employee or customer

update 2: the officer was in plain clothes (but the LAPD thinks it was a targeted attack bc he was using a police union debit card)

update 3: target reviewed the camera footage with detectives and found “no evidence of foul play” wowie, imagine that!!!!

At my old job I had a customer who said they found a penny in their burger. They bit half of it and jammed it in there. I even pointed out that the top half of the penny was completely clean. I was already in a bad mood working thanksgiving day and told them to leave. I could totally see a teenager trying this as a prank. I don’t get why any grown adult would do this? Has anyone been to a tarbux? They have one person there running around like shits on fire. Is the barista gonna stop after seeing the police union credit card, shut down the line, run to the other side of the giant target in diamond bar, pull out her bloody tampon, stick it in her pocket, go back to the bar in full view of the angry, waiting customers in line. Blend the frap, carefully place the bloody tampon while still in view and serve? This is a hoax and deserves SHAME.

the ONLY way that i could think of getting a tampon into a frapp would be using a newly unwrapped one. putting the plastic applicator down into the drink,. and then "inserting" it into the drink like that. trying to do it outside of the firm applicator . . . i just dont think it'd hold up. unless you literally shoved your fingers/hand into the drink.

I mentioned this in another comment. The payment machine is facing the customer. So the batista, besides having to find a fuck to give, would have to be standing beside the customer to even see what they put in chip reader.

We all know how customers stare us down. Some days I don't like customers but never enough to destroy a drink. Tampons are needed I'd wouldn't waste one on a customer

People are making it seem like this kinda shit isn’t imaginable. One of our barista’s tried to pay for a cop at Whataburger last week and the employee there literally refused and wouldn’t serve the officer. Manager was told of this; she still works there.

Definitely not real but if it was then GOOD, I would like to give that barista a high 5
