today i had to wash rags in the sink with bleach because our cintas order got fucked up. our ideal peak staffing on a weekday is a six man play (but we can scoot by with five). this week it's been no more than three man plays, even today with the summer 2 launch. my whole store is miserable, we're out of product constantly, and i don't know what to do anymore. anyone got any good reasons why I shouldn't leave my key on the desk tonight and peace the fuck out? x_x

the only reason i can think to stay is benefits (the only thing keeping me here is school) if youre not using benefits..... leave your keys and peace the fuck out (unless you desperately need a job right now) but no matter what you do i wish you the best of luck!

thank you friend. I'm taking a mental health day to consider my options.

Rough waters. Just remember to be kind to yourself, and you will make the right choice.

thank you friend. I needed to hear that.

I was pretty close to just taking option 3 anyway, but if I'd realized I'd be spending half my day fighting people to wear masks I probably would've taken it. Being at risk myself is part of it, but being constantly confronted with the stupidity and inconsiderate attitudes of so many people who basically want to flex their political views or conspiracy theories on some random retail worker is not my idea of a good day.

I have the identical experience. I am making a last effort at addressing it before I give up. I love so many aspects of the job, but I cannot exist surrounded by misery. Either they allow me to fix things, and support our store doing so, or I don’t know what... it is heartbreaking watching good partners leave due to avoidable problems, and a terrifying feeling of powerlessness when you realize you may be next.
