Stores in California not enforcing mask mandate (self.starbucksbaristas)

edit2: called the PCC today and was told that, despite the statewide mandate, districts and store managers are able to choose whether or not to enforce the mandate. :( Additionally, I haven't gotten any responses to the messages I've sent to external agencies. Here's hoping I'll get worthwhile response soon, but thanks for the advice!

My district decided not to enforce the recent mask mandate; using the words of a shift lead I spoke to about the issue, "starbucks has lost too much money to turn customers away".
I'n furious, but the district keeps insisting that they don't have to follow it. I wish my district, and all of Starbucks, took this situation much more seriously.

Make formal complaints. Starbucks takes a stand typically after poor press and enough attention. They dont care about you, so you have to attack the brand they created that says they do.

Do you think it's worth calling PCC about it, or would it be better to contact people outside of the company? I've tried reaching out to a few people in the company, but no responses yet.

Call the health department. Call your local news station. If starbucks is on the evening news for refusing to follow the mask requirement the DMs and SMs will change their tune real fast.

I’m in CA and my district is very very strict about masks. Customers without one can’t enter and have to go get their mask. Or if they don’t have it in a car we will give them one.

I’m lucky at my store, we’re kind of all on the same page that if we’re following mandates, it’s not wrong. If people need their 3 shot venti iced caramel macchiato with nonfat and extra extra caramel drizzle, they’ll find a way to cover their face.
