dark Starbucks, tell me the deep caramel sauce lore.(self.starbucksbaristas)

In all seriousness, what is it? If it refers to dark caramel sauce, then why isn't it in the ingredients for the caramel crunch frap on the app? It's also been suggested to me that there was an actual caramel sauce at one point that was discontinued, but it's still available as an addition for some reason.

I asked this a while back on the other reddit and after parsing through the "are you stupid" responses a supervisor said that its a discontinued item that was never removed
Still really wanna know what a customer wants when they ask for "3 cr syrup, 4 cr sauce and 3 dark cr" because they might need mobile taken away from them

Diabetes. They want diabetes.

So I’ve never had to suffer through it but I’ve been told that long ago, before the caramel ribbon crunch frap we have now, there used to be a similar frap that came back every year. That frap used a caramel so thick that it would break your arms to pump and your spirit to make it. Then the caramel ribbon crunch we now have entered the scene to replace that one.
On the POS/sticker, ‘caramel sauce’ refers to the drizzle that we put on CM. True to our nature as a company that bows at the customers’ feet for every of their ridiculous requests, you can now order this as a syrup since people can’t get enough of it. ‘Dark caramel sauce’ is the one that is used for caramel ribbon and I don’t know why it’s now being moved to ‘seasonal and other’ in the syrup option on the POS.

Caramel sauce doesnt refer to the drizzle. Caramel drizzle refers to the drizzle which there is, in fact, a button for.
dancing_durian8 points3y ago
Yes it does. If you want drizzle as a condiment or an add on, then drizzle is in the same board as vanilla bean and matcha powder, if you want it as a syrup or part of a beverage component, then it’s caramel sauce in the syrup board. iN fAcT!

How do you do x pumps caramel sauce then when it's used in the drink? And comes in a squeeze bottle?
dancing_durian2 points3y ago
So when you do the crosshatch or the caramel wall, you would squeeze the bottle and hold it for the continuous stream. For the ‘pumps’, I just make a quick squeeze and I count that as one pump.

Not on licensed registers! The button for caramel drizzle is just “caramel sauce”

Caramel drizzle is to caramel sauce as mocha drizzle is to mocha syrup. It’s the same damn thing, just in a bottle.
snidejenner0 points3y ago
Yes. How do you measure pumps of caramel sauce tho? Theres a standard for drizzle but people mobile order 4 pumps caramel sauce and it's like ??
[deleted]2 points3y ago
Is there a standard for drizzle? When you see extra caramel drizzle on a sticker you do exactly the same amount every time? Or do you just guess?
legosandtears3 points3y ago
pretty sure its just the caramel drizzle, honestly. my personal theory is its kept for in case people want it blended in their fraps or something
slamy4202 points3y ago
Nah, if it was then there would be a pump measurment system so the nutritional facts would be acurate
Really wish they'd just remove it from mobile already, p sure its not even in the register
