Bento-sized rant, Extra urnex: furniture reopen next week? :-( (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Riptose13
So some background: High Volume store, one of the busiest in the district. We’ve been on a “social-distanced” grab and go model in our small store for a while. We don’t require masks for customers either.

SM told us the Regional manager was coming by soon. So we do the last minute big cleaning shift, pulling out all the stops to make the store sparkle. I open, peak goes by pretty well, etc.

RM and DM come in, do an inspection, get some things ordered for us that we needed updated.

The they *whip it out.*

The tape measure I mean. Measuring our booth seating, our patio, etc for “socially distanced furniture reopen.”
Rumor is that they are shooting to reopen fully by the 4th.

I’m livid. We are **still** going through the pandemic, and the numbers are getting worse and worse daily. How many 9/11’s of deaths have we had in 4 months? It’s all I can do to even get my customers to enter through the right door, let alone distance thenselces or being in huge parties of customers.

I have **zero** faith my customers will not actually try to be safe, and it only takes one yahoo to come by, cough and suddenly 6 of my customers and 2 of my partners will get the Covid.

I’m frustrated and uncertain. Coporate proving to me personally that they care about money over public health or their partner’s wellbeing. But I shouldn’t be surprised.

TL,DR; Full open at my store in a weak, zero trust in customers to be safe. Big worry.

Ugh that is beyond frustrating! I worry my store may do this. We don't require customer masks either. Which is absolutely disgusting. Starbucks really pisses me off.

My store was definitely heading in that direction before we shut down for two weeks due to someone getting confirmed for covid. I'm sure once we open back up we'll continue on that path too.
