Not enforcing mandatory mask order (self.starbucksbaristas)

My store manager is NOT enforcing a state mandated mask order. What can I do about this?
My SM said that it's unrealistic to enforce, and it's impossible for us to provide masks to our customers. Yet, in the order I read yesterday it is stated "for restaurants and food establishments, customers are to wear a mask until they are seated at their table" "if a customer is exempt from wearing a mask curbside service, or other means of service may be provided"
We still have no seating so it's my understanding that customers have to wear a mask to order, grab their goods, and GTFO. If they can't we either offer curbside service or dt service. Am I wrong?

Call the local health dept. or 311 and report it. It’s such bs when managers say that. it can and will be expected that everyone wear a mask when they go out side especially if they know they are going to a public establishment. Your safety comes first.

Hey, same state! I’m not a siren employee, but I can point out that the only people liable to citations are *businesses* who don’t enforce the order- not individuals. It’s on the bottom of page 7 of the order, if you need to reference it when speaking to someone.

Exactly, which is why I'm confused my store manager isn't enforcing this.
It's not like we can't tell people "if you can't wear mask we can either offer drive through service or curbside service via mobile order and pay".

Yeah 10/10 confused as well- both of those are also perfectly reasonable asks. Good luck with getting come clarity!

You need to find out who in your area is enforcing the mask law and talk to them. In my city it's 311, bit everywhere is different. You also might want to speak with your DM about this.

My dear mom, who hailed from the southern US, taught me how to handle people like this. Here's what you say..."Hi, how're you doing today? We're sooo... glad you stopped by. You may not know, but our company does require everyone to wear a mask while they're in the store. (pause for reply; if they object, then smile big and calmly say) I know it's a hassle for all of us. I'd be happy to take your order outside where you can wait and I'll get right on it. We really do appreciate your business and I'm sure you understand." (rinse and repeat as needed) - There's no point in arguing with people about why they can't/won't wear a mask; just assume they'll either put one on or go outside.
