I agree!
but then management probably wouldn't ever call anyone in and the poor baristas on the floor would get screwed over 🙃

it doesn't even have to be extra pay. maybe an extra hour of vacation time or extra stars on our Starbucks cards. just something other then thanks for being a team player.

That’s actually a great idea. The manager could give a $5-10 gift card to people who “Save the Day”. A great morale booster in my opinion.

Wait... do you actually HAVE to go in? That’s fucked, my sm would never pull that shit

Honestly, I definitely think there should be compensation for picking up shifts and your willingness should be appreciated, but I would recommend working on setting that boundary. You deserve to take care of yourself, and forgive me for pushing advice you didn’t ask for, but this company doesn’t care about you. You owe your store nothing out of your scheduled week, and however wonderful your coworkers might or might not be, they need to respect your boundaries. They can’t respect boundaries that you don’t set. ESPECIALLY right now, you owe it to yourself to take days off. We’re all in this together, but part of looking out for your fellow partners is making time for yourself.
