I know a partner at an old store I used to work at who took the LOA. I understood that you could be called back to work at any time as the store’s needs required, however, they are telling her to work at another location or she will be fired.

When your friend agreed to take the LOA, they agreed to be called back to any store in their district that needed the labor, just like those who chose to continued working could have been transferred if another store needed the labor.

If they don’t want to transfer to the new store, they won’t be fired, they will be voluntarily quitting. The difference is they won’t be able to continue collecting unemployment.

Not to mention this manager has requested her employees bring their own masks, since their location ran out and she never got new ones as well as having groups intermingle rather than being separate.
