Separated bars (self.starbucksbaristas)

Has anyone else had to deal with a plexiglass barrier on the bar? I thought I would see more posts about it when we implemented ours yesterday, a thick sheet of plastic between espresso machines. I have no idea how this really helps contain the spread...both baristas still share a cold bar, ice bins, breathe the same air, etc. How do you feel about it?

It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen and a colossal waste of money on Starbucks’ part. Especially for stores that don’t have a planted second bar 99% of the time like mine. Guaranteed it will cause slower service, spilled drinks, and partner injuries more than it will prevent anything.

It’s a safety hazard. I can’t tell you how times I’ve almost run into the stupid thing trying to bounce back and forth.

I fuckin hate the thing. I've shoulder checked it already more times than I can count. We wanted more barriers between us and customers who come in blatantly refusing to wear a mask. Not each other when we all already wear masks and know that we are washing our hands and keeping clean. 🤦‍♀️

Starbucks sent one to our store even though our espresso machines are literally 12 feet apart at seperate stations already. Good job bux🤟
