Well done. As long as we wear masks and this company continues to NOT REQUIRE a symptomatic parter to go get tested we should be paid cat pay!! It’s assumed exposure to virus.
I am pissed that they closed a nearby store due to a symptomatic worker (who refused to get tested) then opened the store 3 days later with limited (non peak) hours and closed on Sunday. The employees at the closed store get cat pay but Partners at our store are supporting two stores during peak with no extra labor (already running on limited staff) and get regular pay. This is just wrong on so many levels.

This won't work. Their business model cannot sustain that. You also essentially get that in perceived benefits. Food markout, coffee markout, insurances, 401K match.

We’re not asking them to make it permanent. We’re asking for them to do it as long as there’s a pandemic. If they want us to work during a pandemic then we deserve to be paid for that. Yes I know that we can quit. But slot of us have families to take care of and tuition and other expenses to pay for. This little bit helps a lot.

The virus is not going anywhere anytime soon. It’s not financially sustainable for Starbucks to keep paying service pay for 6-12months. You are risking getting the virus anytime you go outside.

We know that but look at it this way. What if every partner decided to keep working during the cat pay period? They would have been able to afford it then because they were offering it. Starbucks can’t close every store because in some plates they’re considered essential. And people can’t just quit because they have to pay for everyday things and pay bills and other stuff. Even if they extended it for another month or two that would help
