Mark out benefit for 10 year partners? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by Chonky_Fire
We were talking at my store today and one partner thought they had heard at one point that once you hit your ten year anniversary you get a free weekly coffee markout for life. Is this a thing?

Yes it’s a thing, I’ve heard older partners talk about it, but its if you retire after 10 years not if you quit so you have to be old enough to retire by starbucks standards. Then it’s free coffee for life

Ah, so you have to probably be 65+ then?
ilovebrandonj 7 points 3y ago
I think it’s 55+ for Starbucks actually!

Interesting, good to know. Thanks!

It USED to be if you retired with Starbucks at age 55 or older, and had been with the company for 10 years or more you were entitled to your mark out and discount for life. In recent years it was changed to once you reach 25 years with the company you get this benefit, regardless of age.

So it’s called a coffee break. What happens is once you are a
10 year partner, you have the eligibility to be off for 1 year, keeping your benefits :) xx

The coffee break is different from the mark out for life! Anyone can take a coffee break leave after 10 years, but when you fully retire after 10 years you get a coffee mark out for life even after you leave for good!
