Is the degree even worth it?(self.starbucksbaristas)

So I have been trying to transfer out of my store for a while now. Not a fan of the SM, and have brought it up to my DM a few times. She always tries to have me sit down and converse with my SM about my concerns. I have those conversations, and things seem great for about 2 days, then go straight back to me wanting to gtfo. I told my DM that I just flat out was not happy at the store and she KNOWS the reasons why (too long to explain), but that’s about it. I’ve been trying to make amends with the store and sm but seriously it’s just getting to the point where I’m questioning if getting a degree is even worth staying there. Need some kind of motivation to stay or advice for transferring lol.

Graduating with zero debt was a pretty sweet feeling I must say

Also you could transfer to another district. If you find a store that will take you, talk to that SM and get the ball rolling on the transfer papers

The out of pocket cost of that degree without any scholarship, or other assistance is about $80,000. And whatever degree you get makes you a much competitive candidate for jobs whenever you leave starbucks.

Just finish the semester and see if you could transfer those credits to a cheaper college.

Look, from the other end of a BA in English and two internships, $25,000 of debt (and feeling lucky about it), two years out of college and still struggling to find a position I can support myself in...in this economy, the only Bachelor's worth getting is either a free one, or one in engineering, business or computer science.
Ultimately, you know what you need. But the free college is pretty much the only reason to stay. HOWEVER. Your mental health is WAY more important than any dumb degree. If I were you, I would keep pushing the store transfer, maybe even reach out to other partners at other stores in your area to try to get them to fight for you on the other end, because the free BA really is a pretty big deal, and once you get it, that's your ticket to freedom. You might even land a position that'll pay for your master's if you need it. Being debt free is one of the best positions you can be in.
