What is your district doing when someone tests positive for covid? (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by eilselserrot
I wanted to know because my district isn’t doing anything. Someone will get infected and the store will shut down for a deep clean then operate as normally. Even the individuals who worked with the infected person continue working like nothing.

I am thinking about putting my two weeks in because our district is reacting so poorly and we are currently in a hot spot.

Is this normal? Or is your district taking more precautions and such?

Nobody has been diagnosed with Covid at my location (so far, that is) but when we had someone sick they did the same. We closed down early, someone came and deep cleaned the store, then it was back to the grind. I miss hazard pay.

Everyone who came into contact with the infected person has to self isolate for 14 days, but other than that everything is same

I am in a similar boat rn... a positive tested partner and I worked together 12 days ago but that partner is already back to work and I had a difficult conversation with my SM today.. apparently I wont be paid for the shifts I’m missing and I’m expected back as soon as friday.. My SM is really supportive, I explained I wanted to get tested and wait until I get my results to return... very stressful time and very disappointing to know my store isnt following as much precaution as I’ve seen other locations and even other business’ practice. I dont believe someone should return to work less than 3 days after getting a positive result but thats just IMO and an overnight deep clean and turning around opening just hours after finding out about the affected partner isnt the route I would take. I’m sort of a green bean so ... not paid to make these decisions.. I think I just want out

Thankfully nobody in my whole region, according to the regional manager has had a positive covid case in their store. But, I have several coworkers who I wouldn’t be surprised if they got it. One of my shifts husbands is a surgical technician so I’m a bit worried about working with her
