COVID LOA communication? (self.starbucksbaristas)

I took preference 2, the COVID LOA, and I was told that we would be getting calls every few weeks with updates on the company or anything important. For anyone on leave, do you have/ have had any communication with your manager since getting on the leave or is it weird for no one to contact me?

Picked option 2 as well and I haven’t had any specific communication with my SM so you’re not alone. Hopefully it isn’t a bad sign for us though...?

Yes.. I was told it would be much less frequent than CAT pay calls but this is kinda like I have no idea what’s happening lol. I really hope not 😩

How are things with option 2? Are they actually paying for the insurance?

I opened for it but had to work due to “business needs”

I’m not on the insurance yet, I’m still covered by my current one until next summer. If I hear anything from anyone about insurance and option 2, I’ll let you know!
Unemployment has been a constant, confusing mess but finally got paid after 3 weeks which is a lot faster than a lot of people so I feel very lucky.. I think I was allowed to take the 2nd option bc I have asthma and I really am not trying to get COVID w that lol and also because I’m a new partner, I was hired the beginning of March, so I’m not a “strong” partner yet and I’m honestly probably more like a dispensable pawn in the eyes of the corporate chess players, if that makes sense. Definitely feel like there is more job security by staying, but I was only going to get 12 hours a week, if that, if I stayed 🙃
