Once I volunteered to help work happy hour. My SM added it to my schedule and then reprinted a new DCR. When I showed up to work, the two people who always ask to leave early obviously asked to leave early and the shift is a pushover who wants people to like them and said okay. I heard them say “OP being here is the only reason I’m letting you two go”.

I told the shift that I wasn’t here to replace anybody, I was here to help and those two shouldn’t be going home early for happy hour. The shift looked at the DCR and saw my name printed there and said “well you’re scheduled” with a shrug.

So I ended up solo barring all of happy hour, back when it was 2 - close, because my shift sent home two people early. The next day they complained to the sm about me and said “op had a real problem that I sent two people home early” they thought my Sm was going to take their side but my Sm said “no, OP was extra and only here to help you. If you didn’t need the help, they should have been sent home first”. Then to me my SM said they would have been pissed if they offered to help someone and then ended up doing all the work. After that I changed my availability to never work happy hour if I was just going to be taken advantage of like that.

To this day that shift still sends people home early and then complains about not having coverage later. Wild.

I was never scheduled Thursdays....... until happy hour came back. Who did I hurt to deserve this

This was the third one I ever worked. When I started with the company until around January I had college classes on Tuesday and thursdays only and couldn’t work on those days. So I ended up only working 2 up until today..
