psa: freshly brewed pike will melt ice (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by apnourry
A lady came in to our cafe store yesterday and ordered a tall pike over ice. Coworker gets it, hands it out. Ten minutes later the lady is leaning over our handoff counter, loudly summoning us over. Same coworker who made and handed out her drink goes over and this lady is ranting about how the ice melted!!!!! Coworker “I can get you an extra cup of ice. I’m sorry about that ma’am” angry lady: “I was JUST in here!!i JUST got this!!!” We give her extra ice, no attitude just trynna resolve it. Lady is pissed we can’t just pour it into her FULL ASS CUP but doesn’t want to have any poured out either??? Stands at the counter pouring back and forth between the cups for a while then leaves with her bad attitude....the pike was def cold so the ice had cooled it to iced coffee temp but it was brewed 2 minutes before she came in so why would you expect hot coffee to not rapidly melt the ice?? Should we leave one urn of pike to cool way the fuck down just for you My Lady? I am confusion🤷🏻‍♀️

I have worked with a couple of shifts that do this for like one or two customers. And they are always so proud of themselves, just pouring hot coffee into an ice cup and looking at me like ‘see? Physics? It’s just like iced coffee.’ No tf, it’s not!!!!!!! And you’re serving customers watered down coffees.

yeah, coworker tried to tell this to the lady and she was pretty indignant about it?? We’re trying to give you a better quality option but if you insist on something else then at least be reasonable about, yanno, physics??
