Anyone get those customers that come through that make a big deal about not getting Starbucks a lot and that they only want a simple drink and brag about not wanting to buy our Frappuccinos and other stuff??? Like wow! You’re so cool for wanting a plain latte! I wish other customers were as cool and simple and serious as you 😩😩😩😩

my favorite customers! “i bet nobody gets plain coffee anymore. everyone likes those froofy drinks nowadays. i like REAL coffee. dark roast, black, no room.” sir we’re on our 6th full batch of dark roast and it’s only 9am, youre far from the only one drinking “real” coffee

we have another super famous coffee chain in my state called caribou (it objectively is better, yes) but EVERYONE comes into starbucks i swear and goes “i like caribou better” or “i ONLY go to caribou but i’m here because i have a gift card” like okay? i’m sorry? what do you want me to say that that lmao

We have a customer that to me just comes off as sooooo pretentious. He wants our freshest batch, claims he can tell who made it (which I know is lies. He assumes he knows who's brewing today but he's just assuming his favourites brew the best coffee. It's funny to catch him in his own lies), but then in that same breath he gets his coffee drowned in milk and sugar so like.....bud I know you can't tell what you're drinking, and you especially can't tell who brewed it.

I mean considering we have a standard on how to brew and a machine does 80% of the work, it should taste the same no matter who does it unless some idiot isn't following standard

Exactly!! And I know all my morning baristas do! Like he'll trash it assuming it was someone he doesn't like and we'll laugh it off awkwardly knowing it wasn't them who did it and it was like, the shift that's been here 6 years. It's just annoying. He used to trash mine saying "you'll get it" when I was new but not to toot my horn, I know I was doing it right. It's easy, I'm a precise person, and I picked up on most of this job really fast. Haven't had to change how I brew from the beginning. He's only recently started to praise it when he thinks I did it and I've been here I think 8 months now. Pretentious customers are worse than Karen's for me and I have social anxiety so Karen's are my worst nightmare lol.

Does he get a roast that changes out often? Like dark? I swear, our dark roast changes weekly at minimum, even faster if we sell a lot (and we do sell a LOT of dark) and run out and have to switch to espresso roast temporarily. This could very easily be his issue, tbh. He trashes it when its a roast he doesnt like, like Italian, and praises it if its Verona, not knowing its a different roast and just assuming it's who made it.

What’s annoying is when customers used to come in and say “listen I’ve NEVER had a Starbuck before, so can I just have a PLAIN OLD COFFEE?? Do you guys even do that? A PLAIN BLACK COFFEE?!?!?!? IVE NEEEEEVERRRRR BEEN TO THE TEMPLE OF TBE MERMAID GODDESS BEFOOOOORE WHAT DO I OOOOORDERRRRRR”. Like idc if you’ve never had your Starbucks cherry popped can you just pay for the coffee I’ve been holding for a minute now????
