I had people do that a lot. Something similar was when a regular “customer” would abuse the $4 or $5 card thing and would constantly demand one. He ordered the new ultra caramel frap, and when he got it, complained that “the whip should be brown.” I offered to remake it and he verbatim said “no just give me a $4 card.” I told him that I’d either remake it or he could leave and he looked shocked and left shortly after. I was surprised to deal with a person like that. You always hear dramatic stories but never think it’ll actually happen to you.

For the birthday drink you’re literally supposed to have your phone on you even when it’s on your birthday. Apparently she thought you just waltz in and say hi it’s my bday where’s my drink cause that’s exactly what she did!! What an entitled loon. I wonder who else she takes advantage of

Yes the birthday thing was extended but it was only for people who's birthdays were in the month of April when stores were closed. After that its if you don't have your app then you don't get the birthday drink and you're allowed to refuse them. Even if they are a regular. No coupon in phone no birthday drink plain and simple.

Yea i get all of that. I was just intimidated by the fact that she knew my manager. Looking back i would not have been in the wrong. Even though we are supposed to “make the moment right.”

Even if we are supposed to "make the moment right" they shouldn't also fault you for doing the other part of your job, which is following the rules and guidelines. If you had refused, you were just doing another part of your job. No coupon, no free drink. I get really annoyed when customers think they can get away with shit like that just because they know people in the store. I get you were intimidated and I don't blame you for that. But your SM can't get angry at you for not giving you something to a customer just because you were doing your job.

Sometimes I like to tell them, if I don’t have something to scan I can’t give it to you. “It’s just how the system works” Usually explaining that I need to scan a coupon in order for the free drink to happen and that without anything to scan I can’t, works :( but I understand your pain
