Closing the bathrooms has been one of the major reliefs of the pandemic. No more mystery poop stains on the walls or ceiling, no more drug overdoses in the bathroom, no more mystery blood spatters, or karens complaining that the bathroom is a disgrace because there's one loose square of TP on the floor.

I feel you buddy. Especially because covid lingers in the air. How are we supposed to feel safe using the same restrooms everyone else does? How can we accurately say we haven't been in contact with a positive covid case, especially seeing as there's reports of people simply using the same elevator a covid positive person has and then getting sick?
I don't have answers. I'm also scared and having a hard time coping. Just wanted to tell you you're not irrational before the koolaid brigade finds this.

My store's bathrooms have been open for a few weeks now at least! I wasn't super happy about it at first but I make sure to never take the mask off in the bathroom and wash my hands really well and it's been okay so far. I definitely understand the apprehension.

The restrooms no longer exist to me. I do not use them, check them, refill them, or clean them. If I am instructed to, I will, but left to my own devices there is always something of higher priority for me to work on.

my store has been take away only for the last 2 months. we’re opening our café to only 5 tables and toilets are only for customers who actually pay. my SM told us we have to sanitise the bathroom before and after the customer goes into the toilet. i’m not overly keen because this is just going to be inconvenient for everyone

Our bathrooms have been open for months and I can promise you cleaning them that way never happens. We just aren’t given the labor to implement it.

my store is located by a service station and most people walk in to use the toilets then leave without buying anything. we’ve had so many complaints and my district manager came in today and had to arrange the seating plan for cafe customers. we can’t have more than 5 people working at a time due to social distancing and we are getting busier and busier.

My store is very similar! We are right off the highway and close to shops and hotels! So alot of one offs. I feel like everyone is so tired and stressed out 😭

it’s just crazy times. i’m a UK starbucks barista so i think the franchise which i work for and the corporate starbucks in the US have different policies. hoping everything goes back to ‘normal’ soon 🙏

Do you have 2 bathrooms? If so maybe you can ask your SM to make one for employees only and the other for customers?

Does your DM support this?

My SM opened up the bathrooms way before they were even supposed to. Like, beginning of May. He also wanted to open up the cafe in May, but got shot down by the district. I'm so over this shit.
