We’ve all been going through it at this time but the other day this really upset me. A mom and her daughter came in and the mom ordered a grande cookie crumble frappuccino for her daughter. Let me repeat GRANDE. We all heard it. I make the drink and I hand it to the girl. The mom grabs it out of her hands and says:
“I ordered a large. Is this a large?”
I responded with,
“That is a grande, our medium size. May I look at the sticker on your cup?”
Of course it said grande. I looked at the girl and asked her if she would like me to remake it for her as a large. She looked so uncomfortable and she stuttered a bit and then said yes. Her mom was looking at her the whole time. The mom didn’t set the drink down, she took both. She used her daughter to save $5.
Even a customer came up to me after and apologized and said she definitely said grande. Of course this has happened to me more times than I can count, I just felt bad she put her daughter on the spot like that.
