I’m disappointed in people (self.starbucksbaristas)

We’ve all been going through it at this time but the other day this really upset me. A mom and her daughter came in and the mom ordered a grande cookie crumble frappuccino for her daughter. Let me repeat GRANDE. We all heard it. I make the drink and I hand it to the girl. The mom grabs it out of her hands and says:

“I ordered a large. Is this a large?”

I responded with,

“That is a grande, our medium size. May I look at the sticker on your cup?”

Of course it said grande. I looked at the girl and asked her if she would like me to remake it for her as a large. She looked so uncomfortable and she stuttered a bit and then said yes. Her mom was looking at her the whole time. The mom didn’t set the drink down, she took both. She used her daughter to save $5.

Even a customer came up to me after and apologized and said she definitely said grande. Of course this has happened to me more times than I can count, I just felt bad she put her daughter on the spot like that.

I would’ve asked for it back since she didn’t pay for both of them. Usually if you’re nice or you’re honest and try to give it back to me I’ll let you keep it and I usually won’t have to ask for it back but in that situation I 100% would.

Yeeeah I definitely would’ve taken the old drink back. If you’re going to be a c*nt you’re not getting a free drink
