Customer Comes into Store with COVID (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by collinscreen
A customer came into my store yesterday and said that she and her family just had COVID, and she still couldn’t taste. $&?!’$@&@ Wtf? Why would she come into the store? I have partners who witnessed this event. My throat feels funny this morning at my shift. What are my options?

Tell your manager. You shouldn’t have to stay. Get out of there. You’ll probably have to self isolate for 14 days. But I think there will be pay. I’m so sorry. Get out of there ASAP. It’s not worth staying and possibly more partners getting sick. My store has shut down three times bcs of partners being sick.

You don’t have to have COVID to have symptoms and that’s enough to get out of your shifts for the next two weeks. It’s the world we’re living in. Again I’m so sorry. Wow. People are awful. Pls stay safe

*The requisite dumb question of why they came into Starbucks if they can't taste anything.*

Tell your manager and shifts ASAP. Get everyone who worked that day to self-isolate. If nothing good happens, call PCC and let them know what the situation is. I am so sorry.

I tested positive yesterday, symptoms started on Monday. My son tested positive on sunday. I got told not to tell the partners at my store of the exposure. Well i called PCC, emailed the DM, the RD... and went live on Facebook. Now my store is being closed until Friday. While it is closed the partners have to use vacation time to make up pay. The only ones that have to self isolate are the ones that worked with me on Sunday. I got told I can expect to work on the 23rd since that would be 10 days from my exposure. WE WORK FOR A CRAPTASTIC COMPANY!

I would think you’d have to have a negative test b4 coming back? Also- 10 days seems not enough/ should be more like 14. I wish you & your son a speedy recovery to complete wellness.

No catastrophe pay?

I do but the partners in the store that where affected when it closed will not.
