How long were you a barista before you ranked up??

I’m kidding. A little. I was a barista for two years then got promoted to a shift as soon as I turned 18 and was able. My manager worked me to the bone. I had to deal with opening the store with call outs so often. There were times where the store didn’t even open on time because I was the only one who showed up in the morning. Every thing that goes wrong and your SM isn’t there. Fell on me. And I got blamed for it. I was a shift for a year and I got so stressed out my hair started to fall out. Now I do doordash and it’s amazing. Starbucks is awesome and I met best fiends for life there. But you have to be super dedicated to the bean to be a successful shift supervisor. I wish you the best of luck and hopefully your SM is more understanding than mine. I don’t mean to scare you, I apologize. I just had a negative experience

Was hired as SM originally. When I came back to Starbucks (I was gone for almost 2 years, went traveling across the country) I was a barista only for like 2 months before they moved me to SSV. But normally, you can see a barista be promoted as early as 6 months in.

What’s your training like?
chaxsthexries 1 points 3y ago
Mostly jst learning things like counts, pulls, money management, doing orders, etc. I could pretty much run the store myself already so its mostly the technical things that make you a shift. I'd say if youre gunna train make sure to let your boss know any and all places youre still shaky with so they can get that squared away as well
