PLEASE DEAR GOD.
STOP coming in my drive thru during afternoon peak and frappy hour to order your iced london fog/iced breakfast tea latte. Go sit in your car out front and think about your life decisions while I wait for your tea to brew. Many more reasons I could list but lets start here. Anyone else have more to add?

It takes all my control not to do this because I make THE MOST extra drinks for myself. I only do it at my store, with my coworkers, when it’s slow.

Everywhere else, it’s a trenta cold brew.

If you brew tea at 9 pm and the store opens at 6am, that's only 3 hours that it'll be usable. Furthermore, at least at my store, not a lot of people order iced tea early in the morning

While that’s true, I still wouldn’t leave it overnight. Pitchers get gnarly stains from tea, and I bet it sitting there stagnant all night impacts the quality.

It’s not that big of a deal sales-wise, tea is stupid cheap. But I don’t like to be wasteful and I don’t like when partners are inconsiderate.

Also yes, it is expired after 12 hours (even if it’s still drinkable, doesn’t mean it’s quality). Starbucks is actually pretty good about determining best-by times and dates. They lose money if they don’t have their standards down.

I’m not going to serve old tea to a customer and charge them for it.

We use our tea within 12 hours. Sometimes within one hour during summer weekends. And the tea gets sloshed around when you grab the pitcher. Thinking of stagnant water vs moving water.

Especially ex-baristas. We have a girl who got another job within the hospital but comes by every damn day. Taking her extra long breaks in our area. Ordering her complicated drinks and nit picking the way everyone does everything.

Someone asked me for an iced version of a medicine ball and I first suggested a green tea lemonade as that wasn't something we had on our menu. The response: "Do I have to come in? Because I'm a partner, I know you guys can do it." Fast forward to a stuffed drive through because you can't ring it iced and the ask me got missed.

I know I’m pretty extra when it’s my drinks. Blonde shot in vanilla sweet cold foam for my nitro sweet cream cold brew. Do I dare do that to other partners or at other stores? Hell no. If I want it so bad I’ll come make it myself. Otherwise it’s a strawberry açaí with black tea that’s it.

Someone literally came in earlier this week asking for a venti pink drink, 3 scoops vanilla bean powder, sweet cream cold foam with a scoop of matcha in the foam. I was like wttffffff and she came to the window like “teehee I have partner numbers” I wanted to fight a bitch. Plus, she was with all her friends acting like she a was a cool bitch cause she can get a free drink

Omg YES.

Can I also add that partners need to stop asking stores that aren’t theirs to break rules? We had a lady hold up our DT line because she threw an absolute fit that I wouldn’t split a venti frappuccino into two tall cups, and when she finally gave up and pulled to the window, she turned out to be a partner and I got a whole earful about how “they do it all the time for me at MY store!!!”

Ask for that stuff at your own store, but don’t expect some random location that doesn’t know you to break rules for you

Oh god I hate this. I covered a shift at another store and some lady asked for a venti iced chai in a tr cup for extra ice and I told her I couldn’t do that as it isn’t within Starbucks policy but I could give her a tr ice cup on the side and she said ugh fine whatever. Gets to the window looks at me while someone else is ringing her up and goes I have a partner numbers. A few partners recognized her so they chatted but I did get that tr cup and had the window person pass it out. Never seen her again but I know she really doesn’t like me.

Baristas who go through drive thrus at other stores and get their super custom unnecessary drinks and then go “I’m a partner heehee” are the worst. At our store they also always ask if they are supposed to give their partner numbers at the speaker or the window when we never take them at the speaker.

I’m honestly going off what my DM, SM, and all my shifts have told me. If someone has the statement then I’ll be very happy to take it back to my store considering the odd things that happen when I have partners from other stores come to mine.

Normal drink, Grande Blonde Iced White Mocha, Almond Milk, Caramel+Vanilla Syrup(I hate the bitter taste of coffee, but caffeine is needed), any other store it's just a trenta strawberry acai with no inclusions, not even shaken. Everyone at my store knows my order, and knows it's not great, but not the worst thing our partners order. I still try to avoid ordering it anywhere else, especially during peak, just not worth it.

Some hideous woman ordered some drinks with all of the customizations and as I was inputting them into the reg, she said, "the button's on the top left". "look at the bottom right, it is right there. just look. bottom right. NO, bottom right.". It was SO ANNOYING and she was wrong. I rarely hate people but this lady got under my skin. She never looked me in the eye or thanked me and barked partner numbers at me when I told her her total. AWFUL.

We had a girl come in and get multiple frappuccinos & espresso drinks less than an hour from close, were talking like, 8-10 drinks total. We've got three people on the floor, cars in the drivethru, and one espresso machine already closed & cleaned for the night. I was about to launch myself over the fuckin bar at her.
