Quitting while enrolled in ASU (self.starbucksbaristas)
submitted by kitcat1210
Has anyone quit halfway through their degree? What was your experience like? Did you stay in school and take out loans and if so how expensive was it? I’m strongly considering leaving this job to find one thats M-F and treats me better. I love ASU though so I probably wont leave the school, so I’m just wondering if anyone has gone through this and what your experience was like with it.

Just remember if you quit before you get the reimbursement you won’t get one at all. They don’t take back the scholarship or anything but you wouldn’t get paid back at the end of the semester for the one you’re in.

I quit right after I graduated, but you could also consider transferring locations if it’s a leadership issue.

Without any assistance from Starbucks it would have been about $6,000 out of pocket a semester to continue my degree.

Oh really? I thought if you quit halfway through the semester they still reimbursed you. And yeah, I’m going to try transferring first, I even have a store lined up. Theres just about 10 other people leaving my store (2 SSVs, which I am also an SSV) so I’m not sure my transfer will get approved, so I am currently looking at other options because I cant stay at my store anymore. It’s a nightmare on my mental health. Thank you for your response it was very helpful!

You have to be employed on the date of the reimbursement being distributed, I quit before realizing that and got lucky it was sent out in my last two weeks!

Yeah that actually makes sense now that I think about it. I’m glad you got lucky lol! Thank you again!
