You are not required to find coverage for shifts you call out sick. That is company policy.

For the first day. If Op knows they won’t be able to show up for any other shifts after the first call out, it’s partners responsibility to find coverage. It’s in the partner handbook

Edit: they can still call out and say they can’t find coverage and they should’ve get fired as long as it’s not a normal thing that they do

That’s not true. Any time you use protected sick time, you are not required to find your own coverage and you are protected from the absence policy. It’s the managers responsibility and that’s why they are salaried. Once you’ve called out sick and used sick time for 3 consecutive days, then it’s suggested you go on a leave of absence or apply for short term disability benefits.

If you call out sick for work, don’t use protected sick time, and don’t find coverage, then your manager may so be inclined to give you a corrective action.

It’s also suggested (or required? I’m fuzzy on that) that you get a doctor’s note for more that three consecutive sick days.
