If I'm handing you your drink in the drive-through... and am being very intentional to hold as little of your cup as possible, keeping my hand out of the way... do NOT put your entire hand over my hand.
Thank you.

EDIT: I was 100% unaware of the whole drink-in-a-for-here-mug thing. Many thanks to those who mentioned it in the comments

What do you mean, " mugs to hand out drinks"?
perfecktenschlog23 points3y ago
there’s a policy that they released like middle of may that we have to use the “for here” mugs to hand drinks out to customers to avoid skin to skin contact and use wire baskets to hand out food
SpadeSeveren [OP]25 points3y ago
I DID NOT KNOW THAT THANK YOU SO MUCH, KIND PARTNER!!!!
perfecktenschlog5 points3y ago
YOURE SO WELCOME
randomyucky4 points3y ago
My store doesn't do that at all :(
mpk10122 points3y ago
Mine doesn’t either.... 😳 our cases in our county aren’t super high but still
babybagel1 points3y ago
god, my store isn't even allowed to do this. i remember asking my manager if we could hand out the drinks in the mugs and he said that our DM said that we can't do that at all :/
JCaligirl4201 points3y ago
That’s a damn lie. It was in the welcome back video for fucks sake!!! You need to contact your RM and PCC
perfecktenschlog1 points3y ago
they definitely lied bc corporate sent out a whole thing abt it around the time we started wearing masks, maybe a bit later
NamesCoKane9 points3y ago
We put our drinks in the "for here" ceramic mugs we have so we can hold the handle of the mug and the customer only grabs the drink
tempting_cattitude7 points3y ago
It’s honestly pointless at my store almost every customer ends up touching my hand as they try and pry the whole mug out of my hands thinking I’m giving them the mug with their order
_treymack4 points3y ago
I’ve heard from some customers that some stores have a large mug they use to place all orders in so that the employees only touch the handle of the mug and the customers reach and grab their order or something like that. Sounds like it works well to mitigate the hand to hand contact.
unsettlingbastardman1 points3y ago
My store is!! It’s the only one in town and I love customers reactions to it. Some people manage to grab the mug which needs to be sanitized, but I don’t mind too much.

You can also use one of the round, brown bar trays lots of stores use for sampling. That’s creates some distance too. If you don’t have these-ask your SM to order a few.
conn6638 points3y ago
at my store, we use a tray to hand off drinks and food items and ask them if they want a drinks tray for multiple drinks to avoid spillage. i’ve had too many occasions where a customer has tried taking the tray off of me or has squeezed a drinks and it goes all in their car and i’m blamed for it... angry 😤
sarajasim3 points3y ago
Also when I tell people to insert their card in the machine and they grab it out of my hands and hold it like,,, u know I’m holding it out for you so neither of us have any physical contact or touch the same things and the only thing you’ll have to touch is your own card ???
SpadeSeveren [OP]1 points3y ago
That's never happened to me, but god, I can't imagine what goes through someone's head if they do that.
RareLingonberry2 points3y ago
We set the drinks on the ledge and if you parked too far then you better open your car door and get out.
kaitlyn_vargas1 points3y ago
Even with the stupid cups you get the “hahahaha I thought you giving me a free mug” or those people who get mad that you clean the mug after they put their whole hand on it!!!
